L-DCS is a new generation
of high efficiency air dehumidification technology for air conditioning
systems, which can save 30% electricity compared to conventional
systems in commercial and industrial buildings.
L-DCS is powered by warm water. At about 80°C warm water is often readily available as waste heat, as a by-product of
numerous industrial processes or electricity generation.
L-DCS absorbs excess humidity from the air by means of a highly concentrated salt solution and releases it back to the
ambient air in form of water vapour. At no stage is pure water
available in liquid form. This excludes any possibility of bacteria
growth (e.g. legionellae).
L-DCS blends in perfectly with district cooling systems,
absorption chillers or structural cooling especially if the use
of cooling water temperatures above 6 °C is desired. Increased
cooling water temperatures (12-22°C) are sufficient, since
dehumidification is covered by the liquid desiccant.
